Terms and conditions

1. Acceptance

These terms govern your use of VestSight (the "site"). By using the site you agree to them. If you create an account, you confirm at sign-up that you have read the privacy policy and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

VestSight is operated by an individual and is not yet an incorporated company. References to "we" and "us" are to that operator.

2. The service

The site compiles facts about exits in companies based in India's Tier-1 cities from 2018 onwards, the parties on each side of them, and related funding and company information. It draws on statutory filings and public reporting, and it shows the source of each fact.

The site is an information product. Nothing on it is investment, legal, tax or financial advice, a recommendation to deal in any security, or an offer or solicitation of any kind. You are responsible for your own decisions and for taking professional advice where you need it.

3. Permitted use

You may use the site to look up and read information for your own research and professional work. You must not:

  • extract data from the site in bulk by automated means, including crawlers, scrapers, scripts or repeated automated requests, or build a database from it, except with our written permission;
  • use information from the site to send unsolicited marketing, or for any contact that breaches applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, telecommunications regulations and anti-spam rules;
  • use the site to harass, profile or target any person, or to infer any person's wealth, income or private circumstances;
  • interfere with the site's operation or security, or try to reach any part of it you are not authorised to use;
  • misrepresent information from the site or remove its attribution to sources.

4. Accuracy and verification

We compile the site with care, but facts about private transactions are often reported incompletely, and sources can be wrong. We do not guarantee that any information is complete, accurate or current. Every exit and every person carries one of three verification statuses:

  • Unverified: taken from a single source and not yet corroborated;
  • Corroborated: stated by at least two independent sources, such as a filing and a report, or a draft filing and its later version;
  • Verified: checked by an editor.

Amounts are shown as the sources state them, and each amount says what it measures (for example the reported consideration, or the size of an offer for sale). If you find an error, please tell us by email at darshv.mishra@gmail.com.

5. Accounts

An account is optional and is personal to you. Give an accurate email address and keep your password confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time from the account menu, which deletes it and its viewing history immediately. We may suspend or delete an account that breaches these terms. Accounts are for people aged 18 or over.

6. Intellectual property

The selection, arrangement, classification, verification and presentation of the information on the site, and the site's text, design and software, are protected by intellectual property rights that belong to us. Facts themselves are not owned by anyone; our rights are in the compilation. Filings, articles and other materials we link to belong to their owners.

7. Third-party links

The site links to filings, news articles and profiles published by others. LinkedIn, news outlets, stock exchanges and regulators are not affiliated with us and do not endorse the site. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and their own terms and policies apply when you visit them.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, business, opportunity or data, arising from your use of or reliance on the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to one thousand Indian rupees. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of India.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of information obtained from the site.

10. Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the site, or change or discontinue any part of it, at any time. Sections 4, 6, 8, 9 and 11 continue to apply after your use ends.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Gurugram, Haryana have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site.
